FLY ON DOWN TO LONGREACH’S MOST FAMOUS DESTINATION
Operating since 1966, the Qantas Founders Museum was opened to commemorate the ethos and preserve the heritage of Qantas Airways.
We are an independent not-for-profit community organisation and registered charity. Book a tour and sit in the cockpit of full scale replica planes as you learn about the many switches and buttons, directly from the pilot’s seat.
Our aircraft collection includes 5 of the world’s most significant aircrafts:
- Consolidated PBY Catalina Flying Boat
- Douglas DC-3
- Lockheed L1049 Super Constellation
- Boeing 707-138
- Boeing 747-238
We also have full scale replicas of some of the most important aircrafts in the early Qantas fleet:
- De Havilland DH-61 Giant Moth
- De Havilland DH-50
- Avro 504K Dyak (Qantas’ first aircraft)
